This echoes what I was hearing at Riverside and Kawartha.
Tagliani is supposedly very motivated to end his Champ Car career and join rookie champion Andrew Ranger at Jacombs Racing's NASCAR Canadian Tire Series team in 2008.
According to team owner Dave Jacombs, Tag said he had a blast at Trois-Rivieres. Ranger paved the way with his success in NCATS in '07 and Tagliani appears eager to re-start his racing career by switching to stock cars.
In Dean McNulty's Sun story, it says that Ranger "is now poised to move up to the Craftsman Truck Series and compete in several Busch Series races next season." That may be the situation now, but following his championship-winning run at Kawartha, Ranger told me he plans to defend his NCATS crown in '08 but that he hopes his schedule also includes select outings in the U.S.-based NASCAR tours (Trucks & Nationwide... soon-to-be formerly Busch). My hunch is that both Quebec stars will be driving for Jacombs in NCATS in '08.
